I initially designed the Angelina for the blues player Mary Flower. Mary had played a 30's Gibson L-00 for years and was looking for a replacement due to the age and fragility of the guitar. I didn't want to make a straight copy of an L-00 as there are many people who do that well. I started with a 1929 L-00 and made it a little curvier, to suit my tastes. The guitar is very lightly X braced in the spirit of an old Gibson. The lower bout is 14 5/8" with a 24 7/8" scale. It's a nice open sound with plenty of bass, but not so much it overwhelms everything else.
