The Ermida is a copy of a Stahl Style 6, originally developed and built by the innovative and enigmatic Larson Brothers of Chicago, Illinois. I used an original Stahl from 1929 (graciously loaned by Will Bremmer of Spruce Tree Music) and the original patent drawings from 1904, to build the Ermida. It features reproduction purfling made in house, rosewood back and sides and is X braced according to the Larson's patterns. The Ermida is 15" in the lower bout with a 25 1/2" scale. It is ideal for playing traditional ragtime.

My friend Staffan Jonsson is an incredibly well rounded musician who lives in Sweden. It has been a great honor for me to build some guitars for him, and it made me very happy that this Larson inspired guitar was going back to the brother's homeland. Here's Staffan playing a Swedish tune, Polska after Pehr Myhr, on his Ermida.
